The
Quake
International aid is pouring into Haiti in a race to save and assist those
impacted by the last week's earthquake. The AP is reporting as many as 200,000 may have died, with
that many more injured and over 1 million left homeless.
CFI Impact
While the quake gave the campus a shake, we are thankful that no damage
or injuries have been discovered on campus or in Ranquitte. While Ivy and
the CFI leaders are OK, we lost two students attending college in
Port-au-Prince (PAP).
CFI Agriculture
Director George Derval traveled to PAP the week of the quake and reported immense damage. "There is no
more Port-au-Prince," he told me. The government is still requiring all
schools to remain closed.
George has reported over 600 quake
victims have come to Ranquitte and we planned together how
we can best help them.
Because of the scope of this catastrophe, CFI is being called on to respond
in a number of ways, including providing food, clothing, medical personnel, medical supplies,
transportation and more. This aid is being targeted to (but not limited
to) those connected with our mission/community, because those are the people
we can reach most efficiently and effectively.

How You Can Help
I appreciate so much that we have already
had numerous people call, email and message us to ask how they can help.
If you want to make a difference, see the donation box
on the right for several options.
And please remember to pray for Haiti.
